Farooq Siddiqui – First Deputy Chairman of the Board, Senior Vice-President
Farooq Siddiqui was born on February 29, 1956 in Pakistan (Sialkot). In 1974 he was selected by the government of Pakistan for engineering studies in the USSR for preparation of engineers for Pakistan Steel Mill being under construction at that time. After completion of preparation faculty of Donetsk State University he entered Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute (metallurgical faculty). In 1980 he returned to Pakistan Steel Mill (Karachi). In 1982 he was selected for postgraduate studies at the University of Hokkaido within the frames of Pakistani-Japanese intergovernmental exchange. From 1987 to 1992 he had worked at Pakistan Steel Mill. In 1993 he became the General Manager of Metalsrussia Corp Ltd in Moscow. In 1996 after acquisition of shares of Donetsk Iron &Steel Works by Metalsrussia Corp Ltd he was appointed Board member of the said Works. At the end of 1997 he became Assistant Chairman of the Board at DMZ and later – Commercial Director of the Mill. After the restructuring of DMZ (2001- 2008) he occupied the positions of the First Deputy Chairman of the Board and Senior Vice-President of CJSC MMW ISTIL (Ukraine).
